Dear Vyacheslav! You raised such a serious issue that no forum is not enough. I will try to be brief. I am not talking here about the work of artists, is a separate topic, I'm talking about the practice and psychology of relationships between the artists themselves, with the state and, at the moment - with galleries.
In Soviet times, artists were forced to live on a double standard. Yes, the state gave the orders and controlled the artists, but they are something between a state-wing mat, and orders are not called otherwise than by the word "trash". We tried to hurry this "hack" painted and easily pass the admission committee. And so there were no problems, must have his people in key positions, so for these positions was a fierce struggle. Fate and the quality of the paintings did not worry anybody. I took their "Hurray", in others - were cut. And to justify this attitude came up with excuse: Behold, they say, hack I write - this is for earnings and for creativity in the studio, I write quite another. This dual approach is unnatural, but it is still very popular among artists. By habit, all that is done to order, is considered the "hack". Now they say: for the gallery - "plywood", and for exhibitions and for themselves - work. But man can not write one now with talent, and the other mediocre. This is called a split personality. As a result, the artist had either shalturivatsya (there were many, for they do not require effort), or to break off all relations with this flawed system to maintain its "I" (those little calls for courage), or try to include any work creatively, that to himself was not ashamed (of too little, and walked along this road is mainly a landscape painter, because apolitical genre).
This atmosphere of duplicity has created the special nature of man, particularly psychology. And this mentality is very difficult relationship gallerist and artist.
About Samara. If you know Samara artists answer yourself the following questions:
How many young artists have arrived in Samara in the last 30 years? And how many left? What is the average age of members of the Union? Why Togliatti at the earliest opportunity with the battle left the Samara Branch of the SC? Why Samara does not have an exhibition hall? You know about the attempt to exclude from the union of 4 people for anti-Soviet propaganda? Why regional exhibitions every year the same names? Why artist V. In this city, the artist is no future, until the older generation dies out. A gifted and no longer a young artist told me that he was ready to wash the brush in Nikas, only to leave the city because he was there - no one, despite its numerous exhibitions and a fairly well-known name.
