Default Exhibition of Vladimir Yashka in St. Petersburg

Dear friends! Welcome to the presentation of the book «Vladimir Yashka. Berlin Diary. 1994 »and the opening of the exhibition« Vladimir Yashka. Works on paper ».
The presentation and the opening will be held October 5, 2010 at 17.00 at the gallery «Northwind» at St. Petersburg, Foundry 58.
The exhibition will run from 5 to 16 October 2010

Exhibition «Vladimir Yashka. Works on paper ».
Vladimir Yashka - bright and colorful figure of the St. Petersburg art scene, known as the "grandfather Mitkov. With its sparkling and beautiful organic talent and a rare capacity for work, he created hundreds of paintings - catchy, memorable, absolutely individual and easily recognizable. So he knows a lot. But in the shadow of Yashka-painter, there is another Yashka less familiar to the general public, but no less brilliant and original - Yashka schedule. This facet of his talent and represents the current exhibition.
In the artistic heritage Yashka - thousands of drawings. His work, like almost everything he does, literally avidly. Such a variety of motifs, techniques difficult to imagine a contemporary artist. He draws a lot, always. Anything and everything. From full-page drawing up a scrap of tissue boxes. If you did not complete the worksheet, lengthen it to others, even if the other variety, texture and tone. None of what he draw difficult or unpleasant. Only a pencil rather rare. Prefer something harder, pootchetlivey - steel pen, cane, ballpoint pen. There are colored pencils, markers, and in different combinations.
In the sketches of scenery would prefer to limit dryish formula. Strict fixation of the composition, the basic motives of spatial relations. These figures are vast. On them you can trace the history of his travels in Crimea, the Caucasus, in Staraya Ladoga. Crimea from Sevastopol to Yalta, the seaside and mountains, sketched hundreds of times, especially Sevastopol - a city where he attended art school. And many species of St. Petersburg.
Singular passion Yashka in Figure - ink. He paints and pen and brush. Images juicy, beat the contrasts of black and white spots. Perhaps, in his chart is the stuff most impulsive and spontaneous. They are swift and expressive.
Many in the schedule Yashka colored things, but it watercolor, gouache is often already moving somewhere outside of graphics. Formats large paint falls thickly pasty. Watercolor is written broadly, quickly, but then often modify a pen, white.
Oil pastels are also intrudes into the domain of painting. Pictures Yashka often "on-vangogovski" overwhelmed juicy, thick, tasty paint, preserving the rich embossed texture. The same can be said about his pastels.
And then there is the Draw Graphics: Tool engraving on linoleum and woodcut "dry point" and monotype and silkscreen printing. This area of graphic art exhibition organizers opted to leave for the next case.
At the opening of the exhibition, which will be held October 5 in 17 hours, will be a presentation of the book «Vladimir Yashka. Berlin Diary. 1994 », reproducing a diary, which led Vladimir Yashka in May-June 1994, while in Berlin. In this edition of the touching, candid memories of childhood, the years of adolescence, and entertaining, interesting thoughts about art and artless account of the events taking place with the author's experience is accompanied by excellent figures: views of Berlin, scenes from the memories, nature sketches, sketches for future work, etc. These small masterpieces generously sprinkled through the pages of the diary. The text of the diary provided with a commentary that explained to readers the realities of life in Berlin in those years, as far as possible to "decode" these or other known or little-known entity behind the initials or names. The book was published edition of 220 copies, each personally signed by the author.

Hello

Recently bought a small book of Vladimir Yashka "Oh, Zinaida.
Devoted entirely to Zinaida Morkovkin.
Zinaida is known to be a fictional character, but Vladimir Yashka wrote many of her portraits and poems in her honor

Because the poems and anecdotes about Zinaida, say, on the brink of a foul, get acquainted with the prose

Thank you, Elizabeth. Yes, indeed, a remarkable book, published by Misha Sapego. Before that, he also issued a no less remarkable collection of "Almost Japanese", illustrated by original graphics Yashka.

Here I would suggest that the use of profanity never wears a Yashka benign nature. If it's clean or replace the euphemisms, the poems in many ways, lose their raisins, a special intonation. The same can be observed, for example, or from Boniface Miroslav Nemirova.

Fully agree, me and anecdotes about Zinaida very much. Placed more precisely prose because I think it conveys the nuances of the author's relationship to the heroine, and poems and portraits are perceived differently after reading
Book "Almost Japanese" did not see. I'll have to search
(I've heard that Yashka eyesight was very poor, a situation not specifically know, but the MB can do something to help, even years, not great, still write and write)

Elizabeth, thank you for your participation and willingness to help. The situation with your vision, Volodya, indeed, catastrophic. He has good vision only at arm's length. The rest - just so that can move with caution on the street. Two years ago he was operated, but actually restore vision, as they said, is impossible. Help him rests in another, very typical for the Russian artist circumstance - he rarely is sober. It is true the last few weeks he has enlightenment - it even works. I hope that we can get him to the presentation and exhibition opening.
A book "Almost Japanese" seems to be sold in the gallery "Borey.
Allow myself to quote one of my favorite haiku in this book:

"Joy has remained
I share: as long as that does not wet
quiet picture writing '
