Moscow Museum of Modern Art presents a solo exhibition of Nikolai Mukhin - People's Artist of Russia, full member of Russian Academy of Arts. In the vast exhibition brought both early and recent work of masters: paintings, sketches, fragments of frescoes, paintings and sculptures, video installations, photographs, and a documentary about the artist. Will feature works from the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Yaroslavl Art Museum, from private collections and collection of the author.

Nikolai Mukhin over the past thirty years or so. "Art" painting "- is an exact science, like mathematics or physics, requiring over a" heroic "efforts and knowledge of the history of the object. Craft work enough over the years, but it is not the main thing, above all, in my opinion - is "Your" perception of the world with all its joys and troubles "- the artist thinks.

Throughout his career, Nikolai Mukhin turns to ancient Russian art, perceiving it as a great cultural and spiritual formation, keeping the answers to important cultural issues of our day. The artist has managed to transform the iconic experience of his predecessors in the thoughts and ideas of his time, creating a unique "bezvremennóy" world of painting, which is a definite interest.

Three titles - "Anatomy of a painting. Bible for "illiterate". Fragments of Life, so the author has defined all that is done over the past thirty years. ... Like most modern thinking, looking for artists, Nikolai Mukhin contradictory, ambiguous, uneven. In his art fighting light and darkness, spirit and flesh - how painful they fight in reality. ... What an objective and certainly not in the works Mukhina, so it is a lie, sanctimonious hypocrisy, alas, not bypassed our "orthodox" art.

Treyvusa, E. Paskhina , A. Bobovichi). Ra-bot on projects and murals on the Reconstructed Temple of Christ the Savior in Moscow (1997-1999).
