Nicholas Bodarevsky Kornilovich

Painter, graphic artist

Of noble family, a descendant of an old family of Moldavian rulers Chegodar-Bodareskul.

He graduated from the Odessa School of Drawing. In 1869-1873 he studied at the IAH in the class of historical painting at TA Neff, P. Shamshina, VP Vereshchagin. In 1871 he was awarded two large and two small silver medals for drawings and sketches from nature in 1873 - a small gold medal for the program, David played the harp before Saul. Bodarevsky belongs to a prominent masters of Russian art in the second half of the XIX century. In early works (1880) was close to the Wanderers, in subsequent years away from tradition toward peredvizhnicheskih "salon" academic.
