Kira Muratova

A talented director, People's Artist of USSR Kira Muratova celebrates anniversary: November 5, she was 75 years.

Kira Muratova (maiden name Korotkoff) was born in 1934 in the town of Soroca, Bessarabia (now Moldova). After high school, Cyrus admitted to the Faculty of Moscow State University, and in 1959, graduated from the directing department fighting positions.

Since 1961 and now Kira Muratova shoots at Odessa Film Studios. In 1962, together with Alexander Muratov delivered his first film - short film "I Krutogo Yar." Two years later, Alexander and Cyrus feature-length film "Our honest bread. For his first solo work "Brief Encounters" and "long wires" Kira Muratova has declared its desire to show mixed human characters. Among the most notable of her works - "Change fate" and "Asthenic syndrome, tapes, have attracted considerable attention critics and viewers. The last picture was awarded the prize of the Berlin Film Festival. Films by Kira Muratova continue to receive regular film festivals, awards and professional communities. Thus, the tape is "Two in One" (2008) won film critics and film "White Elephant" as the best director's work year, and "Melody for the hurdy-gurdy" (2009) recognized as the best picture at the festival "Kinoshock-2009" and awarded prize for Best Actress at the 31st MIFF.

November 5 Odessa Mayor Edward Hurwitz presented folk artist of Ukraine, director of the Odessa Film Studio, a member of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine Kira Muratova's honorary award named after GG Marazli of third degree.

Award winners for many years of fruitful activity, outstanding creative achievements, considerable personal contribution to the development of national cinema and to mark the 75 th anniversary of the birth. Mayor of Odessa wished Kira Muratova's creative success, good health. Award of the Odessa mayor named Gregory Marazli awarded for significant contribution to the development of Odessa in the economic, scientific-technical, socio-cultural sphere, an active civic, charitable activities and patronage.
