Robert Germanovich Byuhtger. (born in 1862 in St. Petersburg and died in 1951 in Munich), Petersburg artist, skating at the Yusupov garden on Sadovaya Street. One of the founders of the Society of lovers skating "in 1887 In January 1887 this Russian skater Yusupov garden won the championship in Munich, Bavaria, and received the cup. Byuhtger tastes great and different from other athletes plasticity and extremely musical arbitrary skating.

As a painter participated in the All-Russia exhibition 1896 in Nizhny Novgorod, among other artists, with two canvases "for reading" and "Blind. One time was a teacher of drawing. After 1904 the artist, and not having a place at the Academy of Arts, was forced to go to Germany.
In a letter to Ilya Repin from February 24, 1903 You can find these lines:

But if he wants that is, it must file a petition to the Council of the Academy of Fine Arts, and the title, I think it will get easier. Is more difficult to get a seat. There will have to wait ... Now a huge competition, young artists weight! .. And good places preferably give us graduated from teacher training courses of the Ministry of Education (Academy of Fine Arts) ... "
His work is likely to remain low.

Now, the city museum Furstenwalde, Germany, is preparing a biography of Robert Byuhtgera, in a series of monographs "Russian art and Russian culture."

And this is his painting of Sotheby's. 24.8 x 20.9 in. /63 x 53 cm. and two pictures from other auctions.
Everywhere he is designated as an artist born in Russia, which probably has a greater value for Western collectors.

Interestingly, this artist is listed in many western catalogs, and we have it is almost unknown.
