I returned from Venice, just shocked by the exhibition in the Palazzo Fortuny, where curators mixed all kinds of art and design that have ever been, and will. This time was the theme of In-finitum. On the one hand, it is infinity, on the other - something unfinished. So, there was no explanation of the art-object. And we in Russia are demanding that each film went a long description of the work to be told what she was and why the artist painted it.

In Venice, there is no explanation at all. In Venetian pavilions are press releases that claim to explain what works in the exhibition. And all the signatures and inscriptions, if they exist, are very small and are in the deepest places. All this is done for the perception of art as ekspiriensa. It's not about the names! Then do not show off: "I know this artist, or do not know!" Only at the level of experience of sensations. And that's cool!

The desire to know all the names and operate on them - this is particularly gloomy Russian people. Let all perceive contemporary art without names. It's not that hard. To begin to resemble some exhibitions during the year. You walk to the exhibition, and you begin to form an associative visual number. You do not need a back up names and expertise: in the mind itself begins the detective process. During this year you want - not want, rack up a certain amount of information, and then you'll samoobrazovyvatsya.

It's like learning a language. At first you do not understand, then gradually know the logic of language, to generate vocabulary, teach the basics of grammar and when you begin to read the text, then, without even knowing the word, guess what is at stake. I think that the same process should start with someone who loves contemporary art.

I am for the last six months has made three major exhibitions. We have shown in Baibakov Art Projects for more than 50 artists in different directions. And, frankly, I do not see in the Russian public of progress. We are still conducting a discussion on the level: "Prove to me that this is important." When you come, for example, in Venice, people do not ask such questions. All communicate on another level: "Let's talk about than this."

In Russia, people are afraid to look like amateurs, and feel confident when have information about the artists and paintings. But the situation changes, as happened with fashion. Previously, all bought labels, now people realize that this concept store, can come in LeForm, buy something radically different from the usual wardrobe, because trust this store. And they used to, and including myself, assert themselves due to the fact that buying a name - Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel.

Baibakov Art Projects - this is also a kind of LeForm. In Baibakov Art Projects we want to express their vision of the world. We work for all who are willing to trust our taste, who are open to the world and understands that there is a lot of good contemporary art. And certainly not for those who think that all modern art - shit.
