Participated in exhibitions of the Association of the Wanderers (1900 ), the Moscow Association of Artists ( 1900), "36 Artists" ( 1902), " The World of Art " (1903 , 1906) , the Union of Russian Artists ( 1903-1923 ). He taught at a private art school (1900-1918) , the Academy of Arts (1938-1939), Moscow State Art Institute (1952-1955). The main artist Maly Theatre ( 1944-1947) . Doctor of Arts ( since 1941) . Member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR ( 1947). People's Artist of the USSR ( 1950).
