The great Russian writer
November 11, 1821 - February 9, 1881

Fyodor Dostoevsky was born November 11, 1821 in Moscow into a large family of a military medic. In the 15 years after the death of his mother and his brother Michael is forced to move to St. Petersburg.

After completing their education in a boarding house, Fedor entered the Engineering School. During his studies serfs killed his father Dostoevsky. Two years after the marriage the couple returned to St. Petersburg. Fedor and his brother founded the magazine "Time", which was banned three years later. In the 1860s the works of Dostoyevsky wrote "House of the Dead," "The Insulted and Humiliated", "Winter Notes on Summer Impressions."

Gambling soon impoverish the writer, and in 1864, dying soon and his wife, and brother. His famous "Crime and Punishment" by Dostoevsky created during this difficult period.

The writer threatened with debtor's prison, so in the summer of 1866 he had to make one-sided contract with the publisher Theodore Stellovsky to sell publishing rights to the full three-volume collection of his works and the new novel "The Gambler", which is required to submit to a very limited timeframe. To keep within the limited time the publisher, the writer takes care stenographer Anna was Snitkin, who later became his second wife.

From 1872, Dostoyevsky lived in the town of Staraya Russa. Here he wrote his immortal works "Demons," "The Brothers Karamazov" and others. Many of his works in our days were ekranizovany Russian and foreign producers.
