Rachmaninoff graduated from the Moscow Conservatory at age 19, and by the time they were already written the first opera "Aleko" (master's thesis) on Pushkin's "Gypsies," the first piano concerto, a number of songs, piano pieces, including a prelude to- C sharp minor, which later became one of the most famous works of Rachmaninoff.

Rachmaninov became famous not only as a composer but also as a pianist and conductor.

After the 1917 revolution, he and his family left Russia. During his life abroad (1918-1943 years) Rachmaninoff created a total of six works, which belong to the heights of the Russian and world music. Permanent residence Rachmaninoff were the USA, where he was buried after a long illness.
