It is interesting to compare the experiences. I was at a personal exhibition of Hopper at the Museum Ludwig in Cologne a few years ago. There were a lot of visitors, and of different ages.
Some things to happen were there one of those that you show, and some did not (eg, a magnificent self-portrait).
Interestingly, the pure painting by Hopper seems monotonous, dry, even uninteresting, but his stuff is very mesh, they have some nerve, completely familiar and close to a resident of the metropolis. Yes, and a painting of herself, after some getting used seems only right, without being distracted by admiring herself, does not distract from the main.
This is really a great artist, reaching surprising result such meager means. He had something to say ...

There's a whole room of self-portraits in different years, but they all seem to be portraits of unknown men for the artist. He seemed completely devoid of emotion, but the viewer of his work like a funnel tightened, especially landscapes. The only thing where emotions are manifested - is the image of women, and there all painfully laid bare, the passion and hatred.

No, this exhibition attendance, I'm just trying to bide the time when the works are not complete and there is no guard there, but it was not easy. And even the room layout is such that the center can be seen only three of the big jobs, while the remaining walls of the stairs. And this despite the fact that Martin quite well and are already closer to closing on a weekday. It is evident that people come not just once, something to discuss, and long standing favorite at work.

I strongly advise trying to make the exhibition De Stael until November 21, and be sure to take a stroll in the park, there is a wonderful park with sculptures by Rodin, Calder, Lallali, Niki de Saint Phalle, Moore, Dyubuffe and so on.
And the museum of vintage cars.
