Switzerland, Hopper, de Stael

Rendezvous is not me and not even assigned to me was above all expectations: two favorite artist LCR in two different cities in Switzerland - Hopper in Lausanne, and de Stael in Martigny.
Immediately make a reservation, it was impossible to remove the work, and in Lausanne Hermitage Foundation and did the camera immediately seized. Therefore, try to give a general idea for those who do not have time to see these exhibitions. Hopper is very in tune with the Swiss - the same cool detachment, coupled with the picturesque. Staggering figures almost immediately another student's period of 1900-ies, then a trip to Paris and the first manifestation of personal style, and of course masterpieces. Second Story Sunlight stunningly positioned in the room opposite the entrance between the two exits to the balcony, right and left, each of which is like a continuation of the landscape in the painting. |

Pjsetiteli almost all were of two age categories: elderly couples and young schoolchildren.
The first seemed not just a connoisseur, but most collectors of works of Hopper, the latter entertained his reaction to the nude while paints landscapes quite intently. :) Добавлено через 6 минут Catalog of large format and in the scanner does not fit that in general good, to resist the temptation to scan almost the entire forum for me it would be difficult. :) Добавлено через 6 минут Hopper Exhibition in Lausanne last until Oct. 17 and from 9 th in Lausanne can still be an exhibition of Irving Penn. |

About 1 hour and 15 minutes by train from Lausanne to Martigny, trains run every 20-30 minutes.
Before the stock Pierre Dzhianadda in Martigny is accessible by bus and within walking distance, the more lost quite possible - all the way to the signposts "De Stael". Добавлено через 7 минут Photograph in the collection can be anything except the work of de Stael, and this is followed strictly, so we had to shoot from long range and quality of course not. When you enter, the whole exhibition is at the bottom, brightly lit and quite stunning impression. Добавлено через 6 минут Except for a few works the entire exhibition assembled from private collections, how they were not jealous? |

fross, thanks.
It is interesting to compare the experiences. I was at a personal exhibition of Hopper at the Museum Ludwig in Cologne a few years ago. There were a lot of visitors, and of different ages. Some things to happen were there one of those that you show, and some did not (eg, a magnificent self-portrait). Interestingly, the pure painting by Hopper seems monotonous, dry, even uninteresting, but his stuff is very mesh, they have some nerve, completely familiar and close to a resident of the metropolis. Yes, and a painting of herself, after some getting used seems only right, without being distracted by admiring herself, does not distract from the main. This is really a great artist, reaching surprising result such meager means. He had something to say ... |

Masterpieces in such numbers that you feel dizzy, and you go round and round.
The fact that on two floors of exhibits works of small format and schedule will learn with surprise and some surprise - "Why?". |
