The paintings, like people, have their own destiny, sometimes dramatic and mysterious. Being born in the creative throes of their creators, they then leave their ancestral home - the studio and starts an independent life, sometimes under the laws of the detective genre. There are pictures of happy destiny when they get into the caring hands, decorate the museum. Like humans, they migrate with their owners, are lost in the dark labyrinths of history to ever rise again and again to please with their beauty. And what is gratified when I suddenly can not reveal the secret biography of a leaf, or completed strokes, even insignificant.
        I want to share with the reader the history associated with the picture, which I bought from a famous artist from Mariupol. It was a landscape Gregory Prishedko "Harbour", 1959. The artist said at the same time an interesting history connected with the creation of this painting. Then I did not attach special significance. Then a similar story I once heard from the lips of another artist. Honestly, thought it was a kind of legend. After all, creative people like to embellish their life stories. And the story is as follows.
        In the late 50-ies in our glorious Mariupol came the famous painter Nikolai Petrovich Glushchenko. It was not the first visit maestro in our city. Back in 1947 he wrote here now Azovstal, which was shown at his personal exhibition in Kiev in 1956. Later, in 1965, he again returns to this theme. At the Jubilee Art Exhibition of the Ukrainian SSR, dedicated to 50 Anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, demonstrated his painting "On the Waterfront. Iron and Steel Works. "
So, in 1959 Glushchenko once again arrived in Mariupol. Of course, Nikolai Petrovich could not ignore local artists. Has long had formed friendly relations with Grisha Prishedko. Sign was also Konstantinov, Kuzminkovym, Kechedzhi, Bondarenko. Sometimes went together on sketches. Particularly liked Glushchenko Harbour. Here opens a very picturesque view of the plant Azovstal. The combination in a single place of the sea, rivers and metallurgical giant, one can hardly find anywhere else in the world. This landscape has attracted so many artists. His captured such famous painters as A. Lentulov, K. Bogaevsky, P. Petrovichev who worked here in 30 years. In the 50's 70's worked here Kievites KA Shurupov, M. Glushchenko was much older than his colleagues and Mariupol was fit their father. He has been a life worthy of a separate novel. 20-30-ies carried out in Germany and France. Exhibitions in major galleries in Paris, Rome, Brussels, Bucharest, Stockholm, made this figure and the bohemian, and a mysterious and almost mystical. Only in the 90 years officially became known that the Ukrainian artist was also a scout.
Despite the difference in age between Gregory Prishedko and Nikolai Petrovich developed warm friendships. And when a few years later Gregory moved to Kiev, they have continued. Prishedko was one of the initiators of Mariupol in the gallery. Largely due to this friendship, our city has 10 great works Glushchenko, the period of its greatest prosperity. But all in order.
   In that hot summer day Glushchenko with Prishedko, Bondarenko, Konstantinov and Kuzminkovym settled on the harbor, just across Azovstal. Grisha and his painter's case was behind the maestro, a little more settled Bondarenko, and began chudodeystvo. Glushchenko with particular artistry inherent in great masters, he wrote with a flourish, it is easy, bold brush strokes.          It took a while, and I decided to check a fact stay in Mariupol Glushchenko, the benefit at hand were several books on the artist. And so, in the book of Shpakova "MP Glushchenko" (Kiev, 1962.), I found the information interesting for me. On page 40 reads: "... Hence Glushchenko really was in Mariupol in 1959! It's a fact! But how plausible is the case, which so often loved to remember the artists. When I came to the illustrations in the above mentioned book, my doubts were finally dispelled. I saw a picture of Glushchenko Azovstal. The Old Port ", 1959. Landscape Prishedko had an undoubted resemblance to the work Glushchenko! Talked about this and compositional similarities, and general color patterns. Comparing these studies show that Gregory really stood behind husband, so his view Azovstal more widely.
Thus, the stories found respected masters of documentary evidence. Looking at the work of artists who come to the conclusion that Prishedko really a lot borrowed from his older colleagues. Painting from Gregory, turned a colorful, upbeat. Usually, he rarely betrayed his beloved silver - gray scale. And then could not resist.

        How could fate Gregory Prishedko?
        In that memorable for him in 1959 he had his first solo exhibition. Then at least a crucial meeting in 1963 with the returnees from the U.S., VM Arnautova. Viktor Mikhailovich in the destiny of Gregory became a significant figure, the same as Glushchenko. Both worked for many years abroad, both on his shoulders was a rich experience, both were masters of the highest level. This meeting is largely influenced by the fate and creativity Prishedko.
       A disciple of Diego Rivera, Victor M. Arnautov was a recognized master of monumental art. During the years spent in the U.S., they have been many developments in technology prizvedeny frescoes. Arnautov decided to make a contribution to the monumental art of the native goroda.Tak in 1964 was created a mosaic at the house of saint, and helped him in this Gregory Prishedko. That's what I wrote about this event Arnautov in his book "Life anew" ("Donbass", 1972.): "... Later this kind of art gets in Mariupol further development and will be a key in the creation Prishedko. This played a role not only Arnautov, but Kiev artist Galina Zubchenko, which in 1967 completed a mosaic of "Blooming Ukraine" in the grocery store, "Kiev" (Mariupol). Co-author was Gregory Prishedko. Soon become his wife Galina Gregory, they moved to Kiev, where they continue to work productively. In the 70 years they have been created mosaic panels on the facade of the Palace of Sports of the Academy of Sciences, Institute of Nuclear Research and many other monumental works in different cities.
In Mariupol Prishedko leave a good memory. Thanks to his initiative in 1962, was founded by Art Gallery. AIKuindzhi on a voluntary basis. In this he was helped by his friends - artists: Sinister Yu, V. Konstantinov, L. Kuzminki, I. Tyutma, N. Bendrik.
Unfortunately, these pictures after more than 40 years, are inaccessible to the public. Art gallery as there was in the city, and there is still no. It may be worthwhile to organize a tour of the city government in Krasny Luch, which in 1995 opened a gallery. And decided this issue on the level of heads of the city, which, though not stated, that seek to make the city a European. Just went and did. The fate of Gregory Prishedko was released not long century - in the prime of his death in 1978, not long surviving his older colleague. Life is NP Glushchenko ended in late 1977, when he was 77-th year, Gregory just spent a quarter of a century less. They were artists of various creative talents, but they have all-consuming love for art. Almost ten years later in 1987 in Kiev, a solo exhibition Prishedko G. and G. Zubchenko. It presented a monumental - decorative arts, as well as paintings and drawings to the fullest extent. About this event now resembles catalog of the exhibition, which is carefully stored in my library.
That's almost half a century, met again, these two artists. Let this meeting and the virtual, but it made me re-think of these great masters who are passionate about life and his work.
