" THE GOLDEN AGE "
The new project by Nesterov and "Artel" ( December 2014 )
The title of the upcoming exhibition " The Golden Age" clearly readable reminiscence by well-known to every educated person the "Silver Age" , whose voice still sounds through the thickness of the time since the end of the 19th century , like a tuning fork of the purity , integrity and high culture.
The interval of 120 years separates us from that time.
The time of a radical revision of the fundamental principles and the revolutionary changes in life.
It was the time for a clash of two principles :
1. The centripetal (the moving to the center, the union . The concept of the Whole : the God, Harmony, Beauty and Love ) , are characteristic of the 19th century .
2 . And the centrifugal ( the scattering in different directions , the abstraction from reality , the freedom from the God, the state, morality, from the culture of the past , from all fetters and bonds) , which was typical for the 20th century . *
Start of the centrifugal cycle in 1891 was given from the term "modern ."
It was an international movement of which the foothold was a feeling , where the holistic and harmonious culture of the 19th century gave up way to a new , radical , revolutionary trends, that abstract from the " sentiments ".
Thus, the " Silver Age" was, as a fact , the finishing , summing up , and a farewell with the culture of the 19th century.
How are we today do not regret for the departed nobility , harmony and beauty, but the changes were needed, and they realized , contrary to many expectations, just as they happened.
The main idol of the come new time was the concept of "freedom ."
Freedom from the culture of the past . Freedom from all that binds : from the harmony , beauty, and God ; from the love , feelings , empathy ; and ultimately , from humanity ...
The " abstraction " and simplification , the rejection from the multidimensionality of a life , that allowed to achieve what otherwise could not be realized.
We must to pay the tribute for the 20 century - in it were made the major breakthroughs in a science and technology and the great formal achievements in the arts. Much has been achieved in the social life.
Today, after the 120 years , ** that is the full circle , the centrifugal movement has given all that it can bring , the continuation of this trend is fruitless and impossible.
And, if this movement began violently , revolutionary and optimistic , but now , when the hopes are behind, when the fatigue came from the monotonous running to nowhere, when nobody will be surprised by fool about and the nihilism , a man, which left in the desert alone without purpose and without meaning , needs another person for empathy, warmth and love.
But not the all is lost . Barely over, the circle starts again !
* Here I must make a correction : in reality , in its pure form, these principles are manifested not always, in every century you can find both , but in the different proportions. Here I am talking about the obligatory dominance of one of them .
** In a my book "The Hours of History or the " Autumn " of Mankind " ( 2011 ) , I have discovered new , the previously unknown cycles of global change of the public moods . These cycles are the law and are repetitive , which allows not only better to see and understand the past , but also to anticipate the specifics of the future events. One of these cycles is repeated for every 120 years , where the by repetition of it alternate the signs + and - ( + are the centripetal principle - centrifugal ) .
Of course, any time is unique and unrepeatable .
The circle of history as a car wheel , completing the full turn , continues to move in a new space , filled with the new facts and events.
I would argue that now is the time , similar in its revolutionary way as it happened for 120 years ago.
Today is a replacement of the fundamental principles - the replacement of a centrifugal , scattering and denying motion for the opposite - the centripetal , positive and affirming one .
There comes a time when a radically rejected by 20th century the ideals of harmony and beauty, goodness and humanity are returning .
Returned the interest for all the positive values accumulated by mankind , for what is named as the culture. And consequently, should increase the role of the bearer of culture the creative person .
And here, as an example for us, as a role model , may serve a person from the "Silver Age ", his honesty , sincerity, honesty and generosity .
But this new man which walking to replace the cynical and ironic features of the man of 20th century probably would to be different by the mood from that one of the "Silver Age " - because it does not close the century but begins a new , long time - (the centripetal).
And every beginning suppose the interest , enthusiasm , the rush of inspiration .
There may be a reasonable question : you're talking about harmony , beauty, and goodness, and we do not see it. On the contrary, both in the art and life, we see the predominance of darkness , hatred, and evil, everywhere reigns the illogic , vice and injustice. All that exists in the background of the low-grade mass culture. The cultural totalitarianism is dominant by the all museums of contemporary art, all of the jury. The all competitions are filled by representatives of one easily recognizable style . The all original, that is existing in the another , unfamiliar tone, is rejected in advance or it passed over in a silence !
Excuse me, but the same thing happened at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries !
Let's imagine that we sit in a time machine and going for 100-120 years ago.
For example, to Paris .
We'll meet with the leading experts in the various fields of art. We'll meet with the enlightened public, with the art lovers .
We'll ask their opinion about their contemporaries , the luminaries of our time, whose works are worth today the millions and millions .
It turns out that they do not know them .
And if them to show these works , they would indignantly replied: "Yes , it's not art! They do not fit into any canons ! "
And , in turn , almost all of that they admired then, today is perceived as a second-rate academic art .
Today , * in the depths of the art, which is called the "contemporary", as the small islands , here and there, matures the " new art ", which is revolutionary in relation to the art of the 20th century .
But do not look for the sun , where it sat !
Do not look for the anarchy and r-r-revolutionary , do not look for the "yellow jackets " and for be provocativ , do not expect mockery about the " bourgeois ."
The "New Art " may come as a shock treatment by the of today unusual beauty , which considered not as a joke or as a " kitsch " , but seriously .
It comes without a scandal , quietly and almost imperceptibly. About the same as are invisible the well-mannered people into the noisy and licentious atmosphere pub.

However, I think the voice of this art can be and loud , deafening, but only when it accurately follows for the feelings of the author.

The market conditions and politics are opposite for the art . Although, as the poet said : " Not for te sale is inspiration, but you can sell a manuscript ."
The black color, darkness and trouble , too, may be as the subject of art, but we should not forget that somewhere is the sun.
Paradoxically, the 20th century was formally democratic, but in the fact, callous and inhuman . The adjusting of man under the dogma and scheme. This man has not even seen of the man in himself , and a communication was mainly in the style of teaching or scoffing .
And on the contrary, the longing for a culture and human nobility which by the form is elitist , focused on the beauty and harmony of the world , entails the understanding , interest and symphathy for the other person.
And , in a benevolent atmosphere of the love and understanding, the people blooms .
It must be remembered that the naked form, also was one of the idols of the 20th century , is the form of something , and namely of the world and absolute, for which we belong. And the form as itself is a heartless and cold .
And if , in the 20th century it was necessary to invent a form , and the important role played by the self-educated persons and the primitive art . But now , the form becomes a very important way to reproduce something behind it . Here we in need for a soul and sense , skill and ability .
The aspiration for perfection ... The longing for the ideal ... Dream ... Poetry ...
The Golden Age has never been, of it is not , and unfortunately of it never will be. After all, an ideal on principle is unreachable .
But without the faith , goals and ideals , our life will be paralyzed ...
And if the last century was dominated by the philosophy of freedom as the refusal of anything , but now we are free to join for the world of light and harmony.
We are free to love and feel.
