In the UK arrested the thief of stuffed rare birds

British police announced the arrest of a burglar who stole in June this year 299 of stuffed tropical birds from the museum, reports on Nov. 16 Associated Press.
It is reported that the detainee Edwin Rist - American 22 years. He was arrested on November 12, and three days later he was charged with burglary and attempted legalization of money.

Rist is suspected of entering a branch of the British Museum of Natural History in Tring Hertfordshire county and the theft of nearly three hundred stuffed exotic birds, many of which are extremely rare in the wild.

According to researcher Richard Lane Museum, among the stolen artifacts collection, which has global significance, were males and Trogon quetzales living in South America, as well as birds of paradise from New Guinea.

The fate of the stolen scarecrows not reported. Previously, the museum staff have expressed fears that the kidnappers could use feathers to adorn dresses, or for making bait for fishing.
