Contemporary Art Festival "Art-Kyiv" previously held in the capital at the Ukrainian House. In the current year, this event is taking place in "Mystetsky arsenal" from 9 to 14 November. This ambitious project became both a week-to-date presentation of the museum complex and the new concept of its development.

TEN epic transformation of old, built at the turn of the XVIII-XIX century military needs a swinger, which for decades has been a kind of closed area of Pechersk, in the arsenal of Fine Arts has finally visible outlines.

Everyone who came to the "Art-Kyiv-2010", appreciated the changes that have occurred in the complex in recent months. The current CEO of Arsenal Natalia Zabolotnaya rejected the old concept of the museum as the future of Ukrainian Louvre or the Hermitage.

- To reflect this problem in the short term is simply impossible - she says. - Their collections formed over the centuries. It is no secret that the previous concept envisages the seizure of items from regional museums for the exhibition "Art Arsenal." However, this idea is not supported neither the leaders of these museums, or the public. The main square, mostly on the ground floor will be given a variable exposures prominent Ukrainian and foreign artists, collections of modern art. Here "propishut" art festivals and fairs. The second floor will be the territory of the museum - visitors Arsenal. In the third plan to create a permanent exhibition of the Ukrainian baroque and sacred art. A fourth floor will become a scientific art criticism laboratory with an electronic library, rooms for seminars, master classes, lecture.

At this year's Festival focuses on contemporary art, which corresponds to its tradition. The expositions of dozens of Ukrainian gallery owners and collectors. Large "landing" has arrived from abroad. It is composed of the Patriarch of street art (street art) Herald Negele, curators and directors of the largest museums in the world, masters of video art from Novgorod. The festival has already hosted a presentable and very relevant to "Arsenal" round table "Museum in a modern context", held numerous discussions and lectures.

"Art-Kyiv-2010" - the first, but pretty powerful reckoning future life model for Arsenal, the museum complex, which, to all appearances, will lead the artistic life of Ukraine into a new orbit.
