Yesterday in St. Petersburg on Vasilevsky Island in the Lazarev Gallery opened an exhibition of Oleg Iakovleff, now living in Paris, the Russian artist. I enclose a photo report from this event.
A few words about the event. The exhibition was opened by Alexander Borovsky, who said deep-felt speech about the artistic and human dignity of the exhibitor. The exposition consisted of about 15 fairly large-sized canvases (though in the directory, published for the exhibition - 30 works). All work has been decorated in purple frame, oddly enough, do not prevent the perception of painting itself. Worse was to light, as highlighted were the only pictures of themselves, and in general in the rooms was not very bright. Opening was accompanied by traditional French chanson in a live performance by accordion Here is the press release Gallery: Oleg Iakovleff, one of the most interesting abstract artists second avant-garde. After participating in the famous Moscow exhibition of non-conformists in 1975, he lives and works in Paris, is actively involved in prestigious art projects. But in Russia, his work can only be seen teams of museum exhibitions devoted to abstract art. "His art - an expression of perfect freedom, and the subtlest of aestheticism. Oleg Iakovleff was always interested in simple forms. In his works, not a single gram of excess art husk. Life easy, which is present in his perception of the world, read in his works. Indeed, to say something very difficult, sometimes you have to look at this simply. Colorful, vivid local colors, grids, circles, snake parallel lines, creating symmetrical patterns that reflect the complete inner freedom, "- writes about the artist art critic Julia Lebedeva. His paintings now adorn the homes of French collectors. And it is not necessary for painting interiors Iakovleff should be modern. The origins of the style, found the artist may have originated from the practice of cursive writing of Henri Michaux, stemming from the Surrealist automatic writing. And this painting is appropriate as a frame of metal and glass high-tech, and antiques. Sergei Khachaturov, art critic, notes that "painting by Oleg Iakovleff assures a very good quality. Visible to schooling, education, accurate and intelligent eyes. Black circles on a black canvas sophistication tonal harmony argue with the compositions of the outstanding French abstractionist Pierre Soulages. "There is a type of artists insist on rendering capabilities of other realities, not connected with the surrounding reality, cash reality. We are talking about the internal representation - mental processes, the matrix of consciousness, of perception. I believe that Iakovleff was busy this ", - said Alexander Borovsky, head of contemporary art at the State Russian Museum. Yakovlev managed to find and approve a new development of Suprematism: Suprematists used rigid structure lines, and lines Yakovlev played a string - on his canvases line zavihlyayutsya, shake, wriggle and even reminiscent of interference on the TV screen. The black spider may be painted any color ball. Preserving the laconic form of artistic expression, he achieves an emotional content, operating lines of a musical rhythm. Drawing skillfully, does not require the viewer to feel uncomfortable in the search for deeper meaning and negates the need for super-task. Elusive emotional patterns Iakovleff, despite the fact that you see only circles and crosses the line, the strategy of "wise durakavalyaniya, making it one of the most interesting abstract lost Russian abstraction of the second half of XX century. Tretyakov Gallery probrela from Oleg Iakovleff several paintings for the exhibition of the second half of the twentieth century. His work is represented in the State Russian Museum and the world's most important collections of abstract.
