From 3 to 29 August in the Year of Russia, France, 2010 in Moscow will host a series of exhibitions "What makes art, the one who makes art", organized by the National Center of Contemporary Art and the Regional Fund for Contemporary Art in Brittany (FRAC Bretagne).
Regional Contemporary Art Fund was created by the French authorities in 1981 during the program of decentralization of cultural heritage. To this day, the main objective of the fund is to support contemporary art in the French region through the acquisition of works and orders for artists, promotion of contemporary art and the organization of thematic conferences.
Collection of the Regional Fund for Contemporary Art in Brittany - one of the first and most representative regional collections in France. Collection comprises nearly 3500 works by 500 artists. Among them - the work of not only French authors, but also artists from other countries, including such renowned masters of modern art, like Vito Acconci, Christian Boltanski, Miroslaw Balka, etc. An important part of the collection of FRAC Bretagne - the historic part of showcasing key milestones development of French art in the second half of XX century.

To show in Russia curators selected works of 30 artists, grouped into two thematic exhibitions. From 3 to 29 August in the exhibition hall of NCCA exhibition to be held "after painting", which will present all the different paintings of the XXI century. By mixing all genres and generations, the exhibition presents a picture of a more traditional sense, and experiences of artists, beyond the boundaries of painting. The exhibition, in particular, will be presented to the black works by Pierre Soulages, torn posters Jacques Villegle, spatial deformation of the old techniques of Jean-Pierre Bertrand.

In turn, from 3 to 25 August in the hall "shop white" Center for Contemporary Art "Winery" will be the second exhibition of the project - "The test of reality." Works together in this exhibition, pointing to the eternal questions of art and the artist's ability to change the world, affecting themes of memory and social utopia, exploring diverse forms of life and transforming the surrounding space. The exhibition will address the problem of collective memory "Archives" by Christian Boltanski, reflections on the memory of the body Miroslaw Balka, monumental Variations on a theme of living space Vito Acconci and other works. In parallel with the "reality test" on Winzavod and Exhibition and dialogue French and Russian artists of different generations "in the present.
