May 31 at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York ended with 700-hour performance by the Serbian artist Marina Abramovic, reports The Daily Telegraph. The performance, which became the longest in the history of art, held in conjunction with a retrospective exhibition of the artist.

From 14 to 31 May, six days a week, seven hours a day, Marina Abramovic in the same position sitting on a chair in the atrium of the museum. On the face of the artist were densely placed white, in clothes she followed one of the three colors: white, red or blue. Visitors could sit down in front of the artist, while she gazed at them.

In the performance Marina Abramovic was attended by about 1400 people, among whom were seen celebrities - Bjork, Isabella Rossellini and Lou Reed. Some of the visitors remained in front of the artist all day, someone - just a few minutes.

At the "Marina Abramovic at MoMA submitted photos, videos and installations to illustrate the career of 63-year-old artist. Notable performances that suit the artist herself in the past, the exhibition duplicate naked sitter. According to the museum, a retrospective of Marina Abramovic, in which staged a performance, attended by around half a million people.
