Several of the state museums of the Netherlands handed over 13 paintings from their collections to the heirs of Jewish collectors who suffered from the Nazis before and during the Second World War. However, as reported by Bloomberg, Restorative committee rejected the claim on the kingdom for 31 cloth, keeping them, thus, to museums.
In considering the restitution claims in the Netherlands since 2002, is engaged in the above Restorative Committee. For seven years he had addressed 75 cases. The last three he completed on September 3. According to one of them, the right of 12 paintings, including the landscape "Village in Winter" big XVII century painter Jan van Goyen, are the heirs of the collector by the name of Hans Ludwig Larsen. Part of his collection was in storage at the Museum of Leiden, but during the war, the Nazis seized the paintings and sold, including, antique dealers, who supplied Hitler painting. It is noteworthy that the heirs of Larsen pay into the treasury of the Netherlands 325 thousand euro, because after the war they were compensated for the cost of collection, but did not return the painting. Another painting, male portrait by Thomas de Keyser, "small Dutchman" XVII century, will be transferred from the museum of Gaudi heirs collector Richard Semmel. This work is handed over free of charge. Restorative Committee also rejected the demand to return the number of paintings to the heirs of owners of antique galleries Katsev, in particular, the daughter of one of them - Sybil Goldstein-Katz. Since 2007, the relatives of gallery owners demand the government return them to the Netherlands 227 paintings, including works by artists of the first magnitude - Frans Hals and Salomon van Ruisdael. Their work may be one of the largest restitution claims in the modern history museum of the Netherlands. But by September 2009 Restorative committee refused to recognize the legitimate claims of 31 now. The verdict on the remaining will be delivered in 2010. Agency Bloomberg said that all 13 paintings, which will be given to descendants of Larsen and Semmel zanchilis in the list of claims Sybil Goldstein-Katz. In 2006, Marei von Sacher sued for Dutch museums, more than 200 paintings from the collection of Jacques Gudstikkera known prewar antiquary, who died in 1940 while trying to leave the occupied Netherlands.
