Default "A man with a sword" Picasso sold for 9,5 million dollars

Bidding impressionists and modernists, the auction house Christie's on June 23 in London, the organizers brought 37.2 million pounds (61.2 million dollars), reported at Christie's.
The most expensive lot of trades was Claude Monet's painting "In the Park Monceau, sold for 6,313 million pounds (10.36 million dollars). The work of Pablo Picasso's "Man with a sword, which had the highest preliminary assessment of all the lots (5 - 7 million pounds), went for 5,753 million pounds (9.44 million dollars).
Another painting by Picasso - "Seated Nude" and the player on the flute "- was sold for 3.4 million pounds (5.58 million dollars). Among the other lots worth noting "Pudryaschuyusya woman" by Joan Miro, sold for 3.96 million pounds (6.5 million), and a painting by Franz Marc "Horses", departed for 3.7 million pounds (6.1 million).
As RIA Novosti reports with reference to its own correspondent, Christie's managed to sell only 30 of the 44 put up for auction lots. The paintings were purchased mostly by collectors from the UK.
On Wednesday, June 24 auction of Impressionist and his modernists will house Sotheby's. This auction will also be exhibited painting by Picasso, Man with a sword ", estimated at 6 - 8 million pounds (9.8 - 13 million dollars). The sale will feature and Monet - "The Road to Giverny in Winter" is estimated at 3 - 4 million pounds (4,9 - 6,5 million dollars).

Another "A man with a sword"
The work of Pablo Picasso's "Man with a sword" (Homme a l'epee) sold on Wednesday, June 24 at Sotheby's for 7 million pounds sterling (11,5 million dollars), reports Reuters. Before bidding auction organizers hoped to gain for this now 6.8 million pounds (10-13 million dollars).
Thus, the correspondence "duel" Picasso won Sotheby's.
Total auction of impressionists and modernists, Sotheby's managed to sell lots for a total of 33.5 million pounds (55.1 million dollars), justified expectations of the organizers. Before the auction was assumed that on June 24 are sold lots on 26,8-37,3 million pounds sterling. In June 2008, Sotheby's auction of impressionist and modernist rescued 102.2 million pounds.
The sale, held the day before Christie's, yielded 37.2 million pounds sterling (61,2 million dollars), said Reuters, and the organizers of the auction expected to sell lots on 37,8-51,7 million pounds.
