"The history of lithography in Russia has about two centuries , but it so happened that it was the 1930s, became its culmination , the" golden age . " Artists " Leningrad school " made its own unique contribution to the development of this genre. Easel lithography played the role of popular prints : she argued that the real art - it's not just oil paintings in gilt frames . As the old Russian splints , Lithograph 1930 have been transformed into objects of collecting. Once they were used for their intended purpose : hung on the walls of dwellings, public institutions , clubs and houses of culture , presented on festive occasions. not all lists have successfully passed the test of time . Many fell into disrepair , the paper burnt out , because few people thought about the safety of them as works of art . they are becoming less and less. most fortunate sheets which artists stored in my folders , valuing gifts of colleagues and friends , keeping them in the siege . were tentative and (interim ) prints , the uniqueness of which is even more obvious . Formed edition of these " probes " . They are not worth a stamp workshop, which means that they vnetirazhnost they are laboratory purposes only and are " kitchen " of the artist. Often unexpected effects born printing process make prints unique. The album played 250 lithographs from private collections and collections of prints of the National Library (St. Petersburg ) . Namely sheets of Leningrad artists home folders : V.Kurdova , N.Tyrsy , I.Titova , A.Pahomova , Yu.Vasnetsova , G.Vereyskogo , N.Kostrova , A.Yakobson ; archives of art : V.Voinova , NE . Rusakov P.Kornilova , S.Alyanskogo , B.Surisa who were real experts in engraving in general and in particular easel lithography . "
