In his wonderful Japanese records pediment placed the work of Emile Bernard, and I once again fell under the charm of this artist, maybe even probably not the most important thing in this extraordinarily rich period of the late 19 - early 20 centuries. - I think about it at all rarely remember when it comes to French painting of this time - and I wanted to put on the forum some of his works.

The son of an industrialist from the north of France, moved to Paris, Emile Bernard began to study painting in the studio of Fernand Cormon, when he was 10 years old. There he became acquainted with Louis Anketenom and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (who wrote his portrait).
In 1887, he met Van Gogh. At this time he used the technique ptsantellizma. In the spring of that year he traveled to Normandy and Brittany, where he met Gauguin (Van Gogh gave him a letter of recommendation) that led to that of puantellizma he moved to Cloisonnism (cloison - septum; outlines the contours of objects with dark outlines, a theoretical framework which they developed together with Anketenom. In August 1888, Bernard moved to Pont Aven.
