The formation and campaign Regiment
The regiment formed by the general-in-chief in the Caucasus Matyushkin May 9, 1726 from parts separated from army regiments to man the troops that occupied the province, attached to Persia, consisting of two battalions, under the name of Astara Infantry Regiment. At the conclusion of the contract Rasht regiment returned to the borders of Russia, and was named the November 7, 1732 Nizovskaya Infantry Regiment.
