Biography

Born in the family of an officer, past the Great Patriotic War, and after demobilization - a teacher of Russian language and literature and director of the school. Mother - dressmaker and teacher in the courses of sewing, the family had three children.
He spent his childhood in the Ukraine - in the Kherson region in the steppe. Vadim was painful and impressionable child.
In 1952 the family returned to her mother's hometown, in Leningrad. Vadim began to paint early in the first lessons in drawing and got to draw a circle in the House of Culture. Cjurupy (1961-1963).
In 1963 he entered the Leningrad Art College (now - Tavricheskoe them. Nicholas Roerich), which was excluded from the second year for "formalism", working year at the Kirov plant puncher, then restored to the school and graduated with a degree (1968) .
In 1968-1973 he was engaged in the so-called group of "Hermitage", which was led by Mr. J. Dlugach: studying the structure of the compositions of the old masters vErmitazhe (in particular, - N. A year later, on the anniversary of the "Bulldozer Exhibition" in Moscow, he - the only one who managed to exhibit three works in Belyayev. Soon, he was arrested and spent a total of one and a half years in the "cross" in the camp, the official version - for "hooliganism."
Released in May 1978, he was forced to emigrate to the end of the same year. Lived in Austria, spent nine months at Rome in Italy, and at the end of noyabrya1979 left for the United States as a political refugee. In 1979-1985 lived and exhibited in Buffalo New York (near the Great Lakes and Niagara Falls).
In May 1985, he became an American citizen and went to Germany, where he works in the journal "Crop" as an artist. Germany has always appealed to him, from the Gothic and Romanesque architecture, from Dürer doekspressionizma (preferred Expressionists - O. Dix, G. Gross, and he just loves Kandinsky and surrealist Max Ernst) from Johann Eckhart's mysticism in the pillbox. Mann and EM Remarque in the literature.
For some time he departs from painting, fascinated by the fate of their historic homeland - Russia, but after the adjustment is gradually returning to painting and even starts to participate in exhibitions in Leningrad-St Petersburg: in the "Arena" at the Harbor (1988-89), in LOSH ( in the exhibition "Millennium of Christianity in Russia").
In 1991 opened his solo exhibition in Hamburg, in the gallery "Prospettive de Arte." His own traveling exhibition "Dialogue illusions" was held in Kazan, Stavropol, Ryazan and Moscow, in 1994. Then the Russian museum buys his four works.
In December 2003 - January 2004 held a solo exhibition Filimonov "Last enlightenment" at the Museum of Art in Pushkin nonkomformistskogo-10.
