Painter, graphic artist and stage designer. Brother VM Vasnetsov. Formal education has not received. Engaged in Vyatka - first his brother, then at MF Andriolli ( 1870-72 ). Living in St. Petersburg ( 1872-75 ) , the advice of VD Polenov , IE Repin. From 1878 he worked in Moscow. He participated in exhibitions TPHV ( since 1888 a member of the Association ), with CPX (1903). One of the organizers of the association " Union of Russian Artists ." In 1900 he received the title of academician. In 1906 he was elected a member of the Moscow Archaeological Society. Since 1890 . the main theme of creativity Vasnetsov become historical landscapes of Moscow . The master's works were exhibited in numerous exhibitions (Paris - 1900 , Munich - 1913 , Lyon - 1914 , New York , Boston and Baltimore - 1924 , Rome, Venice - 1925 , Moscow - 1929, 1933 , 1950 , 1956). His works are in the Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the State Historical Museum , as well as in many regional museums and private collections.
