Preservation of the absolute majority of images is excellent. Defects: 3 - the photo was cut in half, professionally restored, and 7 - the pollution in the photo (about 1x0, 5 cm), jumping to the next photo, but not affected the image edges, 15 - strain field, the photo is not hurt, without losses.

Cover - brown lederin, embossed in gold, with little scuffed, but overall good condition.

Instance belonged Englishman or an American, who spent the early years of the twentieth century, while in Kiev, and who knew the city well (owner's account on the inside of the Book Cover: «Kiev in 1903"). On the back of each photo submitted their entries (usually quite lengthy and informative) on the image of the object containing the known facts, along with little-known details of urban life, as well as their own observations and opinions. Handwriting is made with ink, which, however, does not affect the image. These records, appear to have been addressed to someone from the family or relatives of the owner and chased for trial purpose. They are undoubtedly of interest to researchers of urban culture and living in Kiev late XIX - early XX century.
