Vladimir Kozhevnikov was born in 1950 in Leningrad.
Since 1975, worked in the studio of the artist PP Utkin.
Since 2000 - Member of the Union of Russian Artists.
Member of the city, republican and Russian exhibitions. Solo exhibitions were held in Moscow, Pskov, St. Petersburg, Sweden, Paris, London, Boston, Las Vegas.
Since 2007, member of the International Association of Art Critics. Initiator and inspirer of the creative association "Argonauts".
The artworks are in museums and private collections in Russia and abroad.

In art, St. Petersburg artist Vladimir Kozhevnikov is, in my opinion, some deeply hidden drama. I am referring to the original meaning of the word. "Drama", as you know, means "action." His relationship with the world is not assured, as is likely, and to himself. In principle, the paintings Kozhevnikova nothing happens. His motives are traditional and universal: landscape, still life, nudes. But he - painter harsh warehouse. Sometimes its almost austere palette fancies: milky silver, heat-pearl, thick ocher with the indispensable presence of sharp spots thickly, as if the provisions of white faceted brushstrokes. Many of his landscapes and still written with a fierce and at a cool spirituality. However, there are other works. The artist with intense argument with his own severe restraint. Sometimes in his canvases bursting funfair, dazzling fun, but it's more fun colors and rhythms than the inner joy of the artist. The artist strives for the original essence of the color formula and plastic figures, things landscape. I think Vladimir Kozhevnikov, certainly much reaching, not satisfied yet found: his art - neissyaknuvshaya willingness to experiment, to the grotesque, to the rejection of naydennogo.No found already very much.
