Francis Bacon
Friends,
In connection with the opening of the exhibition of Bacon in the El Prado in Madrid, decided to update the memory of his biography on Wikipedia, and subtract the following point: "He returned to Germany in 1930. A dramatic studio portrait taken of Bacon by Helmar Lerski, a Swiss photographer and cinematographer, probably dates from this visit. Bacon was later to tell Stephen Spender that he had been very impressed by the work of a photographer who had produced striking effects using mirrors and natural light filtered through screens, but that he could not remember the artist's name. " I understand that this may not be the most important thing in his life, but very curious to see this picture. Searched in Google, not much help. Maybe someone could throw a link to this masterpiece? And yet, anyone can recommend a book, which describes the interesting biography of Bacon?? Thanks in advance! |

Here are two photos of Bacon made Lerskim. The first - a portrait of 28, and the second - I do not know the date, but obviously made much later (Lerski rented Bacon reflection in the mirror, and Bacon accidentally broke it).
I do not know what you were looking for on Google? If you type "Bacon" and "Lerski", he gives these photographs. |
