 In recent years nekolko I was fortunate to some enthusiasts - members of the community Photographer.ru - help pave your way through the territory of Ladoga skerries, but countless more people every year make it your own - and at the behest of the soul.

 What is the relevance of the present moment? -

 Attempts to establish a national park, covering the status of protected area the federal level in more than 20 years, has already committed more than once.

These attempts - for one reason or another - ran into opposition from local interests and elites, somehow managed to (earlier) to block the process of creating a national park. Directly to do this is difficult (as difficult to deny the high conservation value area of ​​Ladoga skerries), usually all done under the most specious pretexts, populist slogans.

 Once again today trying to establish a national park in the Ladoga Skerries (some areas Pitkäranta, Sortavala, Lahdenpohja regions of Karelia), met with the interests of small-town businesses (one way or another absorbing natural resources), who managed the mythical dangers of "warm up" the mood of protest from some members of the local population and equip the "correct" point of view (palliative, historically tried and reduces the whole idea with "no") of the deputies of Karelia.

Lake Ladoga must live!

Ladoga Lake - the largest freshwater lake in Europe and the national heritage of Russia, is under threat.

More than twenty years, the Government of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Karelia authorities planned to build in the North Ladoga protected areas, which could stop the industrial development of coastal areas, to keep the water clean Ladoga and nature accessible to all residents. Now those plans are turned into smoke. And the Federal Law "On Protection of Lake Ladoga," rested on the Bose, and not under consideration by the State Duma.

Now dangerously close to the shore of Lake Ladoga issued about one hundred licenses for the development of mineral resources. The forests are leased under a billet of wood, and riparian areas are converted into residential estates and private residences. Experts have noted a sharp deterioration in the quality of the Ladoga water and reduce aquatic biological resources.

Meanwhile, the Karelian parliament is preparing an appeal to the Prime Minister with a request to abandon plans to build in the Ladoga Skerries, a unique natural site, which has no analogues in Russia, the national park. This step kills all hope that the situation with the protection of Lake Ladoga, get off the ground.
