Livadia Palace announced the buying of antiques in the population

Simferopol, December 14 (New Region - Crimea, Andrei Dorofeev) - Livadia palace-museum appealed to residents in Yalta with the invitation to cooperate in the acquisition of antiquities for the replenishment of museum collections. Experts believe this step is evidence of incompetence museum director, Svetlana Moskalenko.

As said in the address management of the palace, circulated by the press center of the "Yalta", will be considered offers to purchase crockery, cutlery, furniture, paintings, drawings, decorative arts, photographs, printed materials, clothing, uniforms during the second half HΙH - the mid-twentieth century.

"Our exhibits many planar, but lacks the bulk material. During the stay in the palace resort a lot of items "left" in an unknown direction, "- said the director of the Palace Museum, Svetlana Moskalenko.

According to her, now face the task or give back what was lost, or exposure to replenish items that correspond to the period late XIX - early XX centuries.

Moskalenko also reported that the assessment will be doing a science museum commission stock or visiting scholars, and purchased items will be earned on the funds of the palace. In addition, staff of the Palace Museum going to attend the auction block, which will monitor the relevant exhibits.

At the same time, the source of the "New Region" in the protection of cultural property is of the view that the initiative of museum staff will not bring tangible results.

"There is nothing criminal, to the same Livadia Palace is well earned and can afford it. But I do not think that they greatly enrich his collection in this way. The bulk of valuable antiquities have long exported abroad or sold to a major private collections. And it is unlikely Palace could give to them the price that they want to get the owners. So, rather it is undertaking - a consequence of lack of professionalism director. Manual of the Palace Museum is simply unaware of the situation in the antiques market. And maybe it's kind of a PR campaign, "- said the official.

He also noted that in the early 90s in the population really could buy valuable antiques, and many of them had been in the collections of the Crimean museums.

"I've seen in antique stores utensils and furniture with pre-war stamps, for example, the Simferopol Art Museum. Came across something from the Livadia Palace. All these things are officially exported Nazis or lost during the evacuation, "- said the source.

Recall, Svetlana Moskalenko led Livadia Palace Museum in February 2011. Prior to that she worked at the State Tax Administration of Ukraine. In the same before his arrival in the Crimea, and held the position of the current Deputy Prime Minister Ekaterina Yurchenko autonomy, now oversees the museum sector.
