Queen Victoria and the damned lovers
I propose to dwell on the work of William Morris. This British artist, whose work falls on the last 40 years the 19 th century - the reign of Queen Victoria, may be considered, on the one hand, the forerunner of the Art Nouveau style, but with another design in its modern sense. In addition, much time he devoted to reflections on the device, a fair social system, which would not be based on the exploitation of man by man.
He belonged to the idea of a workshop, which were made by hand furniture, decorative fabrics, wallpaper, wood and metal objects interiors. Particular attention he paid to general and stained glass in particular. So, he commissioned several artists of the Pre-Raphaelites (Rossetti, Holmen, Hunt, Alma-Tadema, etc.) on the sad story of Tristan and Isolde, which I like and would you pokazat3 but first - 2 interior of the house which he built for himself and called "Red House" (Red House) and a few items that came from his workshop. |
