Marina Tsvetaeva

Russian poet
October 8, 1892 - August 31, 1941

Marina Tsvetaeva was born on October 8, 1892 in Moscow, the son of a professor of philology and pianist Ivan Vladimirovich Mary Maine. Educating girls engaged mother. She wanted her daughter to become a musician, and lot of time to its creative development. In six years, Marina wrote poems in Russian, French, German.

At 16, Marina went to Paris to lecture on Old French literature. The formation of the early work had a major influence Marina N. Nekrasov, V. Bruce, M. Voloshin.

His first collection of poems, "The Evening album" dedicated to the memory of Mary Bashkirtseva, Tsvetaeva published in 1910. Two years later they released the poetry collection "Magic Lantern".

In 1912 Tsvetaeva married Sergei Efron, later they have a daughter, Ariadne. In 1913 the light comes another collection of poems "Of the two books." A year later, Tsvetaeva met with Sophia Parnok - translator, which devotes a series of "Girlfriend."

In 1917, Marina gave birth a second daughter Irina, but in three years, she dies in a shelter. At this time starts a civil war, and her husband Sergei is sent to fight for the White Army. About the war Tsvetaeva wrote the cycle of "Swans' Encampment." In 1918-1919 there are "Yegorushka", "On a red horse", "Tsar-Maiden."

In 1922, having received news from her husband, Marina moved to live abroad. In 1925 giving birth to her son and moved to Paris. Work of this period will not be published.

In 1939, Marina returned to Russia two years later her daughter would be arrested and shot her husband. August 31, 1941 Marina Tsvetaeva committed suicide by hanging himself.

During his lifetime due recognition Tsvetaeva not received. Socialist ideals, it was contraindicated. But it was not his and for the Russian foreign culture - she took it a secondary place. Extensive its revival began in the 1960-1970 years. But the fame of her name for a long time far outstripped the fame of her work. This is due to numerous legends, towering around her complex, painful and tragic biography.

Today, Marina Tsvetaeva rightfully recognized as one of the great Russian poets of the twentieth century.

Sava Yamschikov

Russian restorer and art historian, writer, honored Russia
October 8, 1938 - July 19, 2009

Sawa (Savely) V. Yamschikov born October 8, 1938 in Moscow. He graduated from the Art and History Faculty office and began working at the Russian Restoration Centre in the Department of iconography.

One outcome of years of work was a grand exhibition, "The restoration and study of museum treasures," which in the late 1980s was the greatest event for the whole country. It is here that have been open to the world the amazing provincial Russian masters of the past.

In Moscow Yamschikov organized the exhibition of ancient Russian painting restoration of Karelia, Pskov, Rostov Veliky. He managed to introduce the difficult years of contemporaries with the treasures of private collections in Moscow and Leningrad - from icons to the best examples of avant-garde art.

Most of his life spent in the Sava V. Russian province. He managed to revive the works of hundreds of icons and collection of Russian portraits of XVIII-XIX centuries, to return the many forgotten names of artists, to gather a unique exhibition of icons and restored under his leadership. He was a consultant to the director Andrei Tarkovsky in the film "Andrei Rublev".

Sawa Yamschikov one of the first in the Soviet Union began to deal with the return of cultural property removed from Russia during World War II. Largely through his efforts to Pskov from Germany returned Orthodox sanctuary - the icon of Our Lady of the Pskov-Intercession.

Savva Vasilievich - a man with an amazing artistic flair, one of the founders of the Soviet Culture Fund and the Association of Restorers of Russia, Honored Art Worker, Academy of Natural Sciences. For many years, led Yamschikov Collectors Club of Russia, was a member of the Artists Union, the Union of Journalists, Union of Writers ... He was the first restorer who has received the silver medal of the Russian Academy of Arts, winner of the Lenin Komsomol Prize, awarded by various awards and medals.

Sava V. Yamschikov died July 19, 2009 in Pskov, and was buried in the cemetery Pushkin Mountains near the church of St. George.

Alexei Shchusev

Russian Soviet architect
October 8, 1873 - May 24, 1949

Alexey Shchusev was born in Kishinev (September 26) October 8, 1873 in the family caretaker charitable institutions. In 1891-1897 he studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts, where among his teachers were Benoit and Repin.

In the years 1894-1899 visited Central Asia, Tunisia and several countries in Western Europe, studied at the Academy Julian in Paris (1898).

Since 1901 - serving in the Holy Synod. From 1913 he lived in Moscow.

He established himself as a master of church architecture in the "Russian style": a church-monument of Kulikovo, the abode of Ovruch, Trinity Cathedral in Pochaiv Laura, Martha and Mary Convent in Moscow (all from 1908 to 1912). He built a pilgrimage hotel and the Orthodox Church of St.. Saint Nicholas of Bari (Italy, 1910-1913).

Shchusev performed equally as grand master of architecture and as a historian, archaeologist, was restored in the Church of St. Ovruch. Basil the Great of the 12th century.

Initially focusing on the medieval monuments of Novgorod and Pskov, in the most ambitious of his flashbacks, the ensemble of the Kazan railway station used the motifs of Russian Baroque XVII century.

After the October Revolution of 1917 led the project "New Moscow" to predict the modern principles of linking the radial-ring system of the city with transport communications. Served as chief architect of the All-Russian agricultural and handicraft industrial exhibition. Was director of the Tretyakov Gallery (1926-1929), and since 1946 - founder and director of the Architecture Museum that now bears his name.

Most of his famous work - The Mausoleum of VI Lenin in Red Square (1929-1930).

In subsequent studies Shchusev vanguard consistently gives way to a national historical styling, impressive monumental expressing the pathos of "Stalinist Classicism."

Prominently in his later work took restoration projects destroyed by the war of cities of Istria, Novgorod, Chisinau.

Author of a large number of scientific works on history and contemporary issues of architecture, Shchusev left a memory and as a teacher. Winner of four Stalin Prizes (1941, 1946, 1948 and 1952).

Shchusev died in Moscow on 24 May 1949.
