Present the premiere of Puppet Theater April 17, 1932 was the play, "Jim and Buck" on the play, written specially for the company A. Globa. So began the search for his theater repertoire, creating original designs of dolls and stage design, freely varying the style of performances - from propaganda to play folk tale. All performances of the 1930s were set for children. In 1940 he staged the first show for adults - "Magic Lamp of Alladin", which first applied trostevye dolls.

Puppet performances delighted the audience a live artistic and innovative ingenuity. For several years the theater has become so popular that in 1937 the government decided to make available to the company premises in central Moscow on Mayakovsky Square. The theater at that time not only expanded its staff, but also created his own museum, soon to become a unique treasure trove of dolls.

During the Great Patriotic War, theater artists traveled to the location of the army and the soldiers showed "a front-line program" of parody skits about political issues. After the war, the theater continued to work in Moscow, while expanding the tours.

In 1970, the State Central Puppet Theatre moved to its new building on the Garden Ring. Gorgeous metal clock on the facade were "calling card" of the theater.

For decades the State Academic Central Puppet Theatre (now - the name Obraztsov) has become a major world center of the puppet, with the most complete and only Russian Library of dolls, the world's largest museum puppets of all known systems of antiquity to this day. Viewers received the love and recognition of specialists, many of the performances of the time do not go out with posters and theater today.
