Cologne gave 500 works of Russian avant-garde

This 473 items, among which 130 paintings and sculptures, 153 drawings on paper and 190 photographs. In the Russian collection features 84 artists, including Goncharova, Kandinsky, Larionov, Lissitzky, Malevich, Rodchenko, Exter. Thanks to the donation of the Museum Ludwig will be one of the most important collection of works by Russian avant-garde outside Russia.

Cologne will also work Braque, Degas, Jasper Johns, Klee, Leger, Lichtenstein, Macke, Matisse, Pollock, Rauschenberg, Feininger, Hofer, Schwitters, von Jawlensky.

Ludwig Museum in Cologne was created in 1976 through a collection of German magnate Peter Ludwig and his wife Irene. Now he owns the third largest collection of works by Pablo Picasso and the largest collection of American pop art outside the United States.
