Opening of the Center for the Study of Russian Culture

Center created with the participation of the Fund's social and cultural initiatives, which is headed by Svetlana Medvedev, will work at the Department of Russian Language and Culture University of Venice Ca 'Foscari. The Centre will undertake research and education activities, provide full support to scientific and public organizations to examine the cultural and historical heritage of Russia and the Russian language, it is intended to help strengthen the contacts of the largest cultural and art institutions of the two countries, stressed the Russian President's wife. Svetlana Medvedev noted the importance of working with the youth center: to create more opportunities for communication between representatives of the younger generation of the two countries, facilitate the organization of exchanges.
Svetlana Medvedev visited an exhibition of works by Russian artists Andriaka. The organization of this exhibition has become one of the first initiatives in the work center.
At the opening ceremony of Centre for the Study of Culture of Russia was also attended by Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Alexander Avdeev, Minister of Education of Italy Mariastella Dzhelmini, the mayor of Venice, Giorgio Orson.
University Ca 'Foscari of Venice, established in 1868 as the first in Italy's business school, now better known as one of the best schools with a linguistic bias. It taught 40 languages, including Russian occupies a special place; Department of Russian Language of the institution - one of the first in Italy.
