Several of the other operas, but with regards to the Russian-British relations ... Yesterday gave an amusing fact. In England, on the border with Scotland, there is a fortress of Berwick, for which neighbors often fought. Fort passed from hand to hand until after it did not have consolidated a separate status. Hereinafter:
"In the beginning of the Crimean War, Britain declared war on Russia on behalf of Victoria, Queen of Great Britain, Ireland, Berwick-upon-Tweed and other British possessions. The war ended in 1856, but in the Paris peace agreements, the city of negligence was not made reference to officially remained at war with Russia over the next 110 years. In 1966, a representative of the Foreign Ministry paid a visit to Berwick-upon-Tweed, and proclaimed the world. The mayor replied: "Give the Russian people that they can finally sleep in peace" .
De jure, Russia, as successor to the USSR, is still at war with the English town of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
