Van Gogh paintings fade due to chromium

Scientists are shocked. Impressionist paintings fade with time ! And now it became clear why .

The fact that the colors in the paintings of Van Gogh eventually become dull, has a simple explanation . As part of a chrome paint . Under the influence of light , he recovered , and this leads to trouble. Thus , the owners of museums should keep in mind : paintings of the XIX century are best kept in darkened rooms. Otherwise we may lose many masterpieces!

Van Gogh and his contemporaries used oil paint on the basis of chromate of lead. It is also called yellow chrome. Paints based on it were a novelty, and artists happily used them to produce an unnaturally bright colors . Later was abandoned because of toxicity.

Santa, yes, I copied the Sunflowers , and realized that all shades of yellow , in fact , were originally different. Plus, the dust of ages , which is hammered into the grooves on the smears from the brush stroke volume exaggerating .
The idea is that if you write a copy of Van Gogh is true , then the copy should have a completely different color scheme than the one we see now.

Furthermore Millet was still the Impressionists, which Van Gogh , and learned these lines and still have much to anything.
In my view lines in the painting by Van Gogh are more on the drawing , which he often executed in ink and reed pen , in the manner of the Japanese, which is very appreciated .

Van Gogh biographers have denied the story of the suicide of the artist

Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh may have died in an accident and not suicide as was previously believed. The new version according to U.S. critics Stephen Nayfeh and Gregory White Smith, who for 10 years working on a biography of the painter, writes The Independent.

Version of the death of the artist in detail in the book "Van Gogh: A Life," which will be published in the UK on October 17. In their study, historians have relied on previously unknown material, in particular, the letters of the artist's heirs, as well as preserved in writing memoirs of eyewitnesses.

According to conventional theory, Van Gogh, who lived before his death in a French municipality of Auvers-sur-Oise, July 27, 1890 went for a walk, taking with him the materials for drawing. It was believed that while walking the artist shot himself in the chest, and two days later he died from blood loss. Suicide is the artist explained his mental illness which he suffered for several years.

However, according to the Americans, Van Gogh was shot, two local teenagers. As noted by The Daily Telegraph, he accidentally shot a 16-year-old Rene Sekretan (Rene Secretan), who spent the summer at one of the villas of the city. According to biographers, artists and young people communicate, they are periodically treated to Van Gogh's drinking, but it's biographers suggest that young people tease artist, trying to ruffle. Probably when the accident occurred, the teenagers were drunk.

Before his death, Van Gogh was asked whether he wanted to commit suicide, to which the artist replied: "I think so." According to Nayfeha and Smith, the artist is really just did not want to take the boy, who would have planted.

According to the publication, in favor of the new theory says that the art supplies, with whom Van Gogh allegedly went for a walk, and the gun has never been found. In addition, doubt is the fact that an artist with a wound in his chest was able to go alone to the hotel more than a mile (more than a mile).

Stephen Nayfeh and Gregory White Smith studied about 28,000 documents. They are known as the author of a biography of the artist Jackson Pollock, for which he received the Pulitzer Prize.

По умолчанию Van Gogh made public words after cutting the ear

Published words of Vincent Van Gogh , he said, after a cut off his ear . As reported by The Art Newspaper, they found a researcher Martin Bailey, author of a book about Van Gogh «The Sunflowers are Mine: The Story of Van Gogh Masterpiece» (« my Sunflowers : A History of Van Gogh 's masterpiece ").

The scientist found the first mention in the press about the incident with the artist and his ear. Telegram special correspondent of Arles on December 24, 1888 came out on December 26 in the Paris edition of Le Petit Journal. It reads: " Last night, a painter from the Netherlands named Vincent after the blade cut off his ear , he came to the door of the public house , and gave a piece of his ear , wrapped in paper , the man who opened the door. " Take it, it can be useful," - he said, and walked away. Later, police found the man lying in his house. His condition required immediate transfer to hospital . "

Bailey argues that this finding is especially important because it confirms the version with the artist blade. A few years ago, some researchers have advanced the theory that Van Gogh did not cut off his ear - is said to have done his friend Paul Gauguin with a short sword. In addition , the article argues that Van Gogh's self-mutilation did not happen at the time of the fight , or a fit of madness . It must have been an artist at that time was already suffering from prolonged mental illness and was in a deranged state of mind all night , Bailey suggests .

In addition, Bailey has found a rare picture of a still life by Van Gogh in 1888 , depicting the six sunflowers. In the picture you can see the original picture frame , which the artist offered to frame your picture . A narrow wooden baguette Van Gogh painted in orange color, so that it contrasted with a blue background still life. Such a move could find revolutionary in the late XIX century, when the picture is traditionally inserted into massive gilt frame. The very fabric for a long time kept a collector from Japan and was destroyed during the bombing in World War II .

Also in the course of writing the book Bailey found a picture of one another unidentified " Sunflowers " by Van Gogh, painted in 1888. Painting depicting three flowers on a bright turquoise background , many years passed from one private collection to another and was not shown by any of the owners. Name of today's owner of the painting is not called.

Total in 1888, Van Gogh painted four paintings of sunflowers : they depict three , six , fourteen and fifteen colors , respectively. The latter two are well-known all over the world - one stored in the Neue Pinakothek in Munich , the second part of the collection of the National Gallery in London.

Martin Bailey's book «The Sunflowers are Mine: The Story of Van Gogh Masterpiece» was published September 5, 2013 in publishing Frances Lincoln. In the 240- page book , which tells about the most famous artist's works , included 100 illustrations .
