But we all know and "Art Moscow", and on its other, and not just their projects, it's not the quality of services to the organizers, not as a coffee cafe. We have made 1,5 thousand exhibitions and fairs for 20 years in different areas and know that when everything is sold when the market is "alive", no one notices the roughness and even failures. But when the market is "half dead", and even over a long period, then there is dissatisfaction over, fatigue, and a natural backdrop for this new desire. New projects, new people, new ideas, new sites. Demand for the new proposal creates a new one. This is natural and right. Looking for new efforts, new energy. We, in the broadest sense - a country town, society, in general a lot of things missing. We have only a little. Few foundations, museums, centers, artists, sites, trade press, websites, galleries, finally.

Another thing to be seen whether the new project, thus a breakthrough? Will he succeed? And success in the commercial sense, both for participants and organizers to be self-sustainable, and therefore an independent and viable. Especially in the long term. This is also a marathon. Or he will turn back into someone's donor projects with unpredictable prospect. Time will - we'll see. All is not easy and it is not clear.

15 years we do a fair of contemporary art, but I have all this time leave some doubt about the viability and growth prospects of the market of contemporary art here in Russia.

Look. We're not the first. Was fair "ArtMIF. There was somehow dropped. On it were, of course, famous domestic reasons. But again, if the market grew, it would not have happened. Maybe it's not just the volume of the market, but also some more subtle market mechanisms. Where did the third largest in the world of the Moscow Exhibition of Computer Technologies "Comtek", who grew up on the background of the boom in computerization in Russia? Or why the fall of 2007, when oil cost $ 170, our Antique Salon Sales fell against the expectations of all participants? Why did not become successful "ArtForum" in Berlin, in a country where the third largest art market in the world? Or why, in Italy in general is bad to buy contemporary art in Rome is not a successful fair, and next, in a small Basel fair number one in the world? Why Kiev is Pinchuk, and in Moscow, no? Some answers, of course, but they are ambiguous. Everything is quite difficult.

I'm not 100%sure that the Russian tradition of collecting contemporary art 1910, survived a century break, get a new development in our almost savage capitalism and total medializatsii. Not sure what the size of the country and Moscow, the market size and population - is sufficient grounds for a good development prospects of the art market and projects such as the Fair of Contemporary Art. It is likely that all depends on some nuances of the public consciousness or in front of the changing mentality of the citizens.

But let us hope for the best and believe that we are America and Europe. And we welcome all new initiatives, including competitive. In particular, because the competition - it is always positive. Hopefully, the new fair will be successful, any new perspectives and ideas. Maybe something "srisuem, creative rethinking. And the "Art Moscow" is now a great team. We have to line forces and ideas.
