" The art of decoration of Islamic manuscripts (based on the collections of Moscow ). Iranian miniatures in the collections of Moscow libraries and museums . " Lecturer - Ilya V. Zaitsev , PhD (Institute of Oriental Studies Foundation, Marjani )
The lecture describes techniques and methods of processing traditional Islamic manuscripts , handwriting , calligraphy, bindings, decorative elements and cutscenes . Particular attention is paid to the miniature. The lecture is accompanied by a display of samples of the Islamic book art and miniatures from the collections of Moscow.
Lectures are free.

July 21, 2011 (Thursday) at 19:00 Lecture : " The image of supernatural beings in the Muslim miniature ».
You will learn about the evolution of images of supernatural beings ( dragons, divs , jinns , hellish prison on the monuments of monumental painting of the Central Asian region, 7 - 9 centuries ( Sogd Ustrushana ) , Persian, Ottoman, Mughal miniature. So we will see and analyze the images emanating from Turkestan 15veka beyond the accepted canon of the fine .

The lecture explains the types of carpet weaving and the various ways of their features.

    see carpets woven in these techniques ,
    learn to distinguish between machine and hand work,
     learn about the technical, artistic and other features
     carpets of different types of weaving.
