NEW YORK, April 12 - RIA Novosti news agency, Larissa Saenko. Russian auction auction house Sothebys in New York, opened on Tuesday, have already set two records, informed the organizers of trading.

Artist's canvas Semiradsky Henry (1843-1902) "Dancing among swords" was sold at the morning session for 298 000 $ 500 for the top bracket estimate at around 600 thousand dollars.

This is a record price for the works of Russian-Polish academic classic 19 th century. In Russia, his most important works were a few religious paintings on the walls of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, including the image of the biblical story of the Last Supper.

For the painting "The Lamp of Nero" in 1877 the Imperial Academy of Arts awarded Semiradzki professor, and the French government awarded him the chevalier Legion of Honor.

Another record set at the auction image of the Soviet master Yuri Pimenov (1903-1977), "Cafe". It was sold for 410.5 thousand dollars and became the most expensive picture in the paper, carried out by Russian artist of the 20 th century.

Demand pattern brushes Peter Vereshchagin "View of St. Petersburg of the renowned choreographer Mikhail Baryshnikov, also exceeded expectations. Product, the proceeds from sales will go to support the Fund's Baryshnikov, was bought for 745.6 thousand dollars at a pre-sale estimate of 300-500 thousand dollars.

Purchaser of this canvas has become a private collector from Germany. Bidding continues.

По умолчанию Report from the hall

In general, I was at the auction. Sitting with the first lot to the last including rocket East (report rocket see here).

What can I say? trades have been very uneven:

Of the first six lots Benoit sold only one and even that is below the low estimate. They are very beautiful view on the arrow Vereschagino Vasilevsky Island walked away with the battle for the $ 620 thousand (all prices are in thousands of ye. plus 25%commission of Sotheby's). (Details: I did something no expert, but why the signature of the brown kroaskoy first and then the other over the red?), The following form Gurzuf Aiwaz went for 300 (with estimeyte 300-400), a beautiful Levitan, not sold Semiradsky where the naked woman dancing with swords dotorgovali to 1.8 mils (600-800), costume design by Bakst not sold (which is not surprising when ECT. 300-400 thousand ye!), Lot 21 Grigorieva why it was removed though preview and evening VIP hung - obeshali put a trace. again (why?) by the way he was on the back cover of the catalog so there's obviously something happened very interrogative; next item boy of the same Grigorieva dotorgovali to 650 (200-300), Atypical Theatre Sadko Roerich for 700 (400-600), which huge "Breastfeeding Mama" Shuhaeva not found a buyer that the ECT. 500-700 is not surprising. Beauty gouache Lebedev does not sell (ECT strongly to any high level of 300-400 seems to me in 10 times), the elegant pianist Pimenov sold for 500, Dancers of his own for the 140, but alas Brigade failed (probably too Socialist Realist themes for the normal person) but it is a very nice Cafe took over 340 (200-250), Burliuks (which was 7 - all very beautiful and the most raised his daughter from Canada) went all around a tall estimeytov and unusual for its landscape of Florida went for 90 (40 - 60) and forest landscape of New York dated for some reason 1926 for $ 80 (20-30). Lilac Bogdanov Belsky hardly sold for 120 (150-200) on the directory that refers to almost the same "Chrysanthemum," which Sotheby's merged in 2006 for 430. Six cats Rabin, sorry, did not sell (probably 60-80 is a bit much). Lovely Bride Tischler, 1960 p sold for 29 (12-18) - its Shemyakin presented to someone in 1987 and is a scoundrel and threw in a Sotheby's (why I do not Tyshler nobody gives??)

Bronze went almost all around estimeytov, and an incredible group of Arab horsemen was in a terrible battle gain by selling up to 400 (140-160, a Russian oil oligarch bought or Arab oil sheiks, I unfortunately do not know). Icons have sold everything except for three simple ones in silver. Salaries, incidentally Lot 124 was withdrawn and was not on the preview. Plates sold as usual for the Soviet figures were fierce struggle either to life and death, both local from the hall and on the phone. Phone won the all-important position with the culmination of the first act of selling a charming girl with the apples Hortika in 80 (7-9) and a pair of children with sickle and hammer 155 (12-18). Then came the intermission ....

Conclusion - of the paintings: a good classical and 20th of the year and take expensive Burliuk once popular Soviet figures Danko and her entourage tear with my hands

If you are interested, at the request of the workers, I briefly describe the second act of lots 173-381. Here Link on final prices have to add on a commission)

Christie uzvinite I will not go - and so butt hurt from sitting on a folding chair all day

In Burliuk was not my daughter.
Did you mean that put her granddaughter ?

Tell me please , Kid Loco, where you have such information , if all the paintings were Burliuk from a private collection in New York and one from an unspecified private collection ?

Sorry - granddaughter ( sealed ) . I know from conversations of the people and even the description in the catalog :

Provenance
The Artist - EM itself Burliuk
Thence by descent - EM after inherited

Soglasite , it is obvious that the family

She had all quietly sold to one dealer in NY , but now it seems smarter and decided to drain directly through Sotheby's

Probably because many of its graphics were invited by Christie and a lower estimate of?
There are almost all sold.

I want something clarified .

You are once again sealed off the account with the granddaughter of Canada , is not it?
New York dealer sold the painting granddaughter of Long Island . And now , thanks precisely to the dealer , the paintings Burliuk put in a series of best-selling . And if this is not a dealer, then the granddaughter of the situation would be completely different. Do not you , Kid Loco ?

I honestly do not know by whom Burliuk was heavily marketed - we say that thanks to major collectors in the Ukraine who had already purchased several hundred paintings . The fact that the dealer bought in Canada told me his partner , but you know - in this business all lie like Pinocchio
