Default Does the cost of restoration of works of art?

Here in one subject controversy broke on the topic "Does the cost of restoration of things and whether you want to do it, if the thing is in poor condition?

please comment on these things matter with the arguments and vote.

in the voting it comes to works of art that are in poor condition

Personally, I think that raises. Let me explain why: when the work is in poor condition (crumbling or chipping paint, badly stretched canvas, went caps, torn cardboard, etc.), its cost is lower because they do not see it in full dignity, the buyer there is some doubt as this work, its past and perhaps its future state (does not change whether its appearance due to poor condition). It's like in real life: if the thing with marriage, then it should cost less.
I agree that the restorer restorer strife, but to find a normal, after consultation with knowledgeable people, it is possible.
Outcome: grammotno renovated thing looks better and more attractive than the tattered, and, accordingly, can be sold more expensive. There are cases where restoration is contraindicated for the continued relevance of the work, but it is more the exception than the rule.

I think that in a survey it comes to professional restoration and that the restoration was needed, of course the price pattern would be improved if it was in poor condition and restored truly specialist

Art dealer to buy a virgin interesting picture, in whatever form it is not terrible byla.Eto so.
But there are buyers and they buy from dilera.Budut landscape Russian academician in chicken litter, izvinite.Ne think.
So look at this situation: a) the eyes of the dealer or collector, and b) the eyes of the acquirer-rich collector, the client of the same art dealer.

Can anybody remember the case from your practice when the restoration to lower or raise the cost of work? And that was the reason?

Ie probably have to increase the cost of restoration work (and how differently?), but there is cheaper, that even though .... threw in the trash. "
As a result, we can agree with Meister taking into account these points.

We have found that the situation of bilateral.
Let us expand on the items when appropriate thing to restore, and when not. For the art dealer is understandable, it is still in what form to buy, above all cheaper. Then we consider the situation in the eyes of an art dealer who wants to sell the thing as dearly as possible. (altruists because no?)
