New works of one of the most successful contemporary artists Damien Hirst show at the exhibition in Moscow gallery "Triumph", which opens on December 17, RIA Novosti reported the press service of the gallery.
As explained companion agency, we are talking about the series "The Dead", which has already been presented in the homeland of the artist in the UK. It consists of 30 works, each of which depicts a human skull in different color combinations, made in the technique of two-color foil and printed on paper. The skull in general is a favorite motif of Hirst and, by his own admission, for it symbolizes "the triumph of life." In 2007, Hirst has created one of the most expensive works of contemporary art - "the love of the Lord", based on a real skull and okleit its diamonds. Almost a hundred million dollars it has acquired a group of investors, including, according to some reports, Ukrainian businessman and collector Viktor Pinchuk. However, in the first place, Hirst is famous as the author of a series of sculptures of Natural History, who have a "poetic" names like "The physical impossibility of death in the minds of living" are floating in formaldehyde and dead animals were sold for seven figures. However, recently, the artist said that developing a series on it will not, because now these installations have not shock anyone: a much larger effect is due to return to basics - painting. The "Dead" - not the first exhibition of Hirst's in the history of Triumph, in 2006 the gallery has a permanent display of "new religion". |

Well, if you remember the wise words of one German: "History repeats itself, first as tragedy, then as farce", then yes. How else to perceive a remake of Repin's paintings, which replaced Pobedonostsev and Count Ignatiev of Selezneva and Zhirinovsky. And instead of someone already bought Putin? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The issue in this case - is not about painting Kalinin (I'm not a fan of the arts here, and this exhibition like, once again, more aptly chosen location and the overall concept). |
