The pride of the Prado Museum was a fake Goya

26.01 22:57 MIGnews.com

Experts Spanish Prado believes that the famous painting "The Colossus", which sees the work as an outstanding artist of XVIII century by Francisco Jose de Goya-and-Lusentesa actually wrote his assistant.

Even last year, the museum announced that it no longer considered an original picture of Goya. But on Monday, January 26, a declaration was made chief curator Manuela Mena Marquez, according to which, the real author of this fabric - journeyman Asensio Julià.
In "The Colossus" depicts a giant, towering above the clouds hanging over the terror-stricken village. This work has always been one of the main attractions of the Prado.

The first doubts about its authenticity began in the early 1990's, and last year the museum had openly acknowledged that Goya was hardly the author of this track.

they're just 5 already changed their minds, and as a result came to the conclusion that this is Goya, along with his disciples. There voobze funny story: when the first time began to suspect that this is not Goya, all the "art lovers" in one voice shouted: "it is true that something is wrong in this picture, there really is no hand of the master, weak, very weak . Then the researchers thought it over and changed their opinion to the contrary, saying that it certainly Goya. The same "art lovers" to wail in a new way: "Oh, we really fancied. Brilliant job all the same. What colors, what power. Oh, how impressive."
Voobshchem, funny creatures)))

Dark period in the work of Goya, fortunately, is not the only or even the last. One of the last works was Milkmaid of Bordeaux, a wonderful portrait, which is called a precursor of Impressionism. I do not know how it exactly, but something like it had been sold to the artist's widow after his death for one ounce of gold.

Who has not seen the exhibition and is near Novosibirsk, may still have time - the remaining weeks
