Dmitry Gutov was born in 1960 in Moscow. In 1978-1980's. engaged in drawing and painting in the studio, MM Kukunova. In 1992 he graduated from the Art Institute of Theory of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. IE Repin in St. Petersburg. Since the early 1990's. participates in international exhibitions of contemporary art: the Istanbul Biennial (1992), the Biennale in Venice (1995), Manifesta 1, Rotterdam (1996), the first Valencia Biennial (2001), the Biennale in Sao Paulo (2002), the exhibition "Berlin - Moscow , Berlin (2003), the exhibition "Russia!", Guggenheim Museum, New York (2005), Biennale of Sydney (2006), etc. Since the inception of the "Art Journal" (1993) is a member of the Editorial Board. Author of numerous publications on the theory of modern culture.
