Ekob Binet (1895-1955).
Born in the family of the merchant. He studied at the Art School in Riga City (1913-1915). He graduated from the studio of figural painting professor YL Tillbergsa at the Latvian Academy of Arts.
Participates in exhibitions since 1917. Member Society Dardedze "(1939), a member of the Union of Artists since 1945 Honored Artist of Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic (1955).
He has worked in all genres of painting, especially in the genre and portraits, often used mythological subjects. In his works he carried out the tradition of realism, is working with decorative features of Art features and styling. Also there is work on the monumental painting and stained glass. Author of several books on art, laureate of the Cultural Foundation of Latvia (1933).
