Nikolai Salesuk - bright original artist of Belarus of the twentieth century, graphic designer, Illustrator, a prominent figure of the Belarusian school of surrealism. It was called "pioneer", "pioneer", the Belarusian Salvador Dali. His works were awarded at national and international art competitions. In 1989 N. Salesuk was awarded a gold medal and diploma of the Biennale of book illustration in Bratislava. In 1992 he was awarded the State prize of Belarus. Artist tragically died in 1996 in Italy.

The project "the Artist and the City" for the fourth consecutive year is implemented in the Belarusian capital, with the support of the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Belarus and the Minsk city Executive Committee. This year the project was initiated by the social marketing Agency Grand BS and the contemporary arts Center. As General partner, for the second year in a row, became the Bank VTB.

"On the opening day of the exposition on Yakub Kolas square will host a series of cultural events featuring music and show teams. Also for Minsk residents and guests will have the opportunity to take a memorable photo in a specially prepared photo zone", - said Alexander Chikunov, head of the Department of advertising, public relations and marketing Department of CJSC VTB Bank (Belarus).

Exhibition of Nikolai Salesusa will last until September 10.

may 14, on Yakub Kolas square opens the exhibition project "the Artist and the city" devoted to the work of one of the first representatives of the Belarusian surrealism, laureate of the State prize of Belarus Nikolai Salesuk. The open air exhibition will last for three months.

In the framework of the project "the Artist and the city" this year will be presented reproductions of 30 paintings by Nicholas Salesusa from the collections of the National art Museum of Belarus, the Museum of modern art, the Belarusian Union of artists, Mogilev regional art Museum named after P. V. Maslennikov and private collections. The exhibition will be accompanied by a textual description in three languages - Russian, Belarusian and English. Among the presented works, the exhibition visitors will see reproductions of such works as "a Chronicle of one night", "portrait of a girl", "the Road home", etc.
