Today was the auction photos "Changing Focus - A Collection of Russian and Eastern European Contemporary Photography". Conflicting results: sold only 34 of the 155 photos. Not a very good indicator, although for the first auction of contemporary Russian photography, probably a good idea.
Unfortunately, not bought any photos of Igor Mukhin, although work has been just great. We wish him good luck in the future! In the first place - Boris Mikhailov, lot 831. A series of 23 photographs bought for 46,000 pounds, with the premium auction - is 57500. Bought almost all the work Mikhailova, so that it can be called the star of these trades: 824 - 13,750 825 - 20,000 826 - 6,875 828 - 10,000 829 - 3,500 831 - 57,500 In second place - Komar and Melamid. Photos taken by a monkey, bought for 50,000 pounds (at a premium). Gone 3 photos by Sergey Borisov (1500-2000 pounds) Sutkus and other members of the Lithuanian school (7.4 million pounds) Photo from the boy at the piano (lot 818) sold for Mokhoreva 5 thousand pounds. Bought two photos Chezhina: Lot 864 - 12500 and 871 - 5000. I watched the auction online at Sotheby's, and for two photos of Boris Smelova was a long struggle: for Lot 892 photos from the St. Petersburg series was 10 steps from the start in 5000 to 8 and a half, at a premium price of 10,625 pounds. And Lot 893 of 6,875 pounds. Surprisingly, it did not buy his famous still life - Lot 891. Photos Slusarev apparently found no interest among buyers. Just bought a series of 3 pictures - Lot 904 of 3,000 pounds. A series of photos Kupriyanov with portraits of women, and the signatures of the poems of Pushkin, too, for some reason did not find a buyer. But the rest of his works were selling like hot cakes: 911 for the lot struggled for a long time, until the upper estimate of 12,000. 911 - 15,000 912 - 10,000 913 -11.875 Another bought almost all photos Titarenko with blurred figures against the background of the city streets, shot at slow shutter speeds, from 6 to 11,000.
