Well, Perelman and Gagosian judged , let alone real.
Who can briefly explain that they do not share and who is right?
Both were almost friends , and so successful .

Art dealer Larry Gagosian
Source: bloomberg.com
The world-famous art dealer Larry Gagosian trying dismiss at least the famous billionaire Ronald Perelman. It is reported by Bloomberg. Recall that the participants of the events had a falling out in September last year due to the multi-million dollar transactions Contemporary works of art. Perelman, a longtime client Gagosian Gallery, accused his main supplier of the masterpieces of modern art in price manipulation and concealment of important information, influenced his decision to purchase for $ 4 million granite sculpture by Jeff Koons 'Popeye'. Gagosian hid from Perelman details of its internal arrangements with the artist Jeff Koons, in which the resale of his works is the winner of the author, and not a gallery (the artist will receive 70-80%of any amount paid in excess of the original cost, which means that Gagosian Gallery is unlikely to undertake the troublesome business of reselling Koons for others, but not their profits). Perelman refused to pay previously ordered the sculpture "Popeye" and sued the dealer.

Larry Gagosian gave back a lawsuit accusing billionaire non-payment of two previously commissioned works of art, as well as in violation of the payment schedule for another work in progress (in fact, for the "Popeye" Koons). However, in October 2012 the dealer took his claim. Now it requires rejection of the claim and Perelman. Gagosian collector calls the suit "baseless" and is referred to the most billionaires delinquent. It even requires the use of sanctions against Perelman, because all of the litigation, in his opinion, was ventured to harm his business. Ronald Perelman representative Christine Taylor has denied the allegations and called all of the assumptions Gagosian false.

Perelman's lawsuit is not the only one, which is now at war Gagosian. In January of 2012 against him also sued Ian Coles (Jan Cowles), mother of art dealer and former editor of Artforum resource Charles Cowles (Charles Cowles). The cause was a deal with the work of Roy Lichtenstein's "Girl in the Mirror." This lawsuit Gagosian also tried to dismiss, but the court did not allow him to do so.

I do not remember when he had fasted this interview with the American art dealer.
It is quite old (he is almost 40 years >), but in the subject, in my opinion.

Interview is not copied (copyrights), give the link: http://artandyou.ru/category/practic...t_art_dilerom#

IMHO the success of the artist in the first place provides the appropriate technological capabilities of the artist and his workshop with the national Russian market. Only then is the meaning of a legally protected in the international market. This success depends on the ability to do an analysis of the market and the ability to build and maintain an effective artistic production.
And the last thing draws attention to the dealer, and even more so in the last turn when closing its accounting reports. I have met many impostors - dealers, and each time it turned out that the best results were achieved by his own efforts.
The basis of one - the picture should be demanded and quickly sold. The last part is manipulated
delaying the sale, for example, to obtain an order for the other less fortunate of the artist painting a demonstration of the success or for replication of successful songs without the knowledge of the author ..
