Rare portraits by Russian artists Alexander Shervashidze, A. Yakovlev, Remy, Roerich met the famous St. Petersburg photographer-artist MA Sherling in 1913. This so-called svetopisny portrait. The distribution of paint on the plane is not granted a single case, but is modified by the will and taste of the wizard. To achieve its goal, Sherling resort to embellishing the plate colors and pastel pencils, knife scraping and etching acids separate parts of the impression.

Surprisingly, as the old photographs and daguerreotypes are different from today's pictures. I do not mean the technical side, rather, by the way, interesting, namely, facial expressions, eyes, posture models. From all breathe some fantastic calm, unhurried way of life. About 10 years ago on the official use stopped in the Historical Museum. The day had ended, I was hurrying off somewhere, and suddenly saw a poster exhibition daguerreotypes. All haste - on the side!
The exhibition was quite small, but quite magical. Unfortunately, I got an hour with a small, and the exhibition worked the last day. How it all one hundred and fifty years, kept, cherished, so we can see these unique plates. What sort of person! I often revise the catalog of this exhibition. Not to mention the fact that he was extremely professionally done (the work described in great detail, given the history of existence of a number of articles, biographies of the owners and images of people, biographies of photographers, etc., etc. ..), to examine him - an enjoyable one. Quiet peaceful person - no stress, no posturing, in short, are what is on any show you will not see, charming family photos, a lot of friends: Herzen, Grigorovich, and would have been very disappointed by those who imagined Turgenev on a good-looking portraits in classrooms literature. Turgenev's daguerreotype, from my point of view, completely explains all the passion that is gripping it, but nothing of respectability in general it is better not to stutter I love one shot: a middle-aged married couple - and with them a girl of 12 (daughter, granddaughter?). The only shot in the whole directory in which a person is smiling! Those adults are serious, the girl with one hand so tenderly embraces this serious man, and so sweet, warm smile, which emanates from the entire plate incredible warmth. |

That's it! Thank you, Grandpa! This is what I say! If you try to recall when such peaceful person was last seen in reality - not on TV, not in the picture, not the more so in the mirror in the morning before work - because after all, and not remember! What a pity!

But no-o-o! : p That's me just at the end of the day stating the disconnected: shy: Our descendants will be smarter than us, and will live better, and from the cradle to understand that stress is a dangerous thing, and that must be fed properly and that any war is dangerous for everyone equally whoever wherever they are, etc., etc. Therefore, their faces will be closer to those ancestors, than ours. And in general, probably the person in old photographs - faces of his time, so these will not be never.
